The College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM) Pakistan showcased its leadership in wellness education and internationally recognized food safety training during the visit of a high-level delegation from the Sindh Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) to its Garden Town Campus.
The distinguished delegation comprised Hon. Mr. Junaid Buland, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh & Chairman, STEVTA, Government of Sindh; Mr. Ghulam Murtaza Sheikh, Managing Director, STEVTA; and Ms. Mehwish Jillani, Director Human Resources, STEVTA.
During the visit, the delegation toured Wellness by Diet Studio and the Food Safety Department, where they were introduced to COTHM’s innovative initiatives in nutrition, preventive healthcare, wellness education, and internationally aligned food safety qualifications.
At Wellness by Diet Studio, the delegates explored the center’s holistic approach to promoting healthier lifestyles through personalized nutrition consultations, balanced meal planning, wellness awareness, and preventive healthcare services. The visit highlighted the growing importance of nutrition education in improving public health, workplace wellness, and overall community well-being.
The delegation also visited the Food Safety Department, where they were briefed on COTHM’s internationally recognized food safety programmes designed to prepare students and hospitality professionals with practical expertise in food hygiene, safe food handling, international compliance standards, and quality assurance. The department’s commitment to raising food safety standards within Pakistan’s hospitality and food service industries received high appreciation from the visiting delegation.
The visit also provided an opportunity for productive discussions on expanding collaboration in hospitality, tourism, culinary arts, food safety, wellness education, and technical skills development. Both organizations emphasized the importance of delivering industry-focused education that equips young professionals with practical competencies aligned with both national priorities and international standards.
The interaction reaffirmed a shared commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s technical and vocational education landscape through innovation, strategic partnerships, and experiential learning.
