At the 26th UN Tourism General Assembly in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Ahmad Shafiq, Founder, President & CEO of the College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM) Global, met with Pedro Machado, Secretary of State for Tourism in Portugal, to discuss future collaboration in hospitality and tourism development.
During their interaction, both leaders exchanged ideas on sustainable tourism, hospitality education, and international partnerships. Ahmad Shafiq shared COTHM Global’s vision of connecting Pakistan’s hospitality talent with global opportunities through education and training.
Pedro Machado praised Pakistan’s growing tourism potential and commended the warm hospitality of the Pakistani people, calling it a defining feature of the nation’s tourism identity.
The meeting and warm gestures from international counterparts underscored a shared commitment to cooperation, cultural exchange, and sustainable growth in the global tourism sector.
