COTHM Marks International Heritage Day with Cultural Tour and Student Art Showcase

The College of Tourism and Hotel Management (COTHM) commemorated International Heritage Day with an engaging blend of cultural exploration and creative expression, offering students a meaningful connection to Pakistan’s rich historical legacy.

As part of the celebrations, more than 50 students participated in an immersive educational tour of Lahore’s historic Walled City, organized in collaboration with the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA). The guided tour by Asim Khan, official tourist guide of the WCLA,  provided in-depth insights into the architectural heritage, cultural significance, and preservation efforts within the centuries-old urban landscape.

Adding a creative highlight to the celebration, a painting competition was conducted among the students, encouraging them to visually capture the spirit and essence of the historic surroundings. The activity was proudly sponsored by GOBI’S Paints Pakistan, whose support played a key role in promoting artistic expression among young participants.

The tour concluded with a formal ceremony where shields were presented to WCLA officials as a token of appreciation. The honors were awarded by Fraaz Kasuri, Vice President of Horeca+ Academy Pakistan, who also led and supervised the entire tour.

The event reflected COTHM’s continued commitment to experiential learning, cultural awareness, and recognition of collaborative efforts that promote heritage preservation.
