Students of Tourism & Hotel Management at College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM) Johar Town successfully organized and managed an Educational Heritage Tour as part of their practical learning and tourism management training.
The tour was entirely planned and executed by the students themselves, providing valuable hands-on experience in route planning, destination selection, budgeting, transportation management, event coordination, and tour operations. The initiative reflected the students’ growing professionalism and understanding of real-world tourism practices.
During the educational visit, students explored several historically and culturally significant sites including Tumri Sahib Temple, Wazirabad Railway Station, Sheikha Di Kothi, Ram Pyari Mahal Museum, and Kharian Baoli. Each location offered students deeper insights into the region’s architectural heritage, historical importance, and cultural diversity.
The experiential learning activity enabled students to apply classroom concepts in a practical environment while enhancing their leadership, communication, destination management, and hospitality skills. Faculty members appreciated the students’ dedication and organizational abilities, emphasizing the importance of field-based learning within tourism education.
COTHM Johar Town continues to promote industry-oriented education by creating opportunities that prepare students for professional careers in tourism, hospitality, and destination management.
