HORECA Academy is set to organize a specialized seminar titled “Upgrading Street Food & Roadside Eateries” on September 7, 2026, at 12:00 PM at 186, Abu Bakar Block, New Garden Town, Lahore. The seminar aims to promote improved hygiene, food safety, food handling, and operational practices across Pakistan’s street food and roadside dining sector.
Organized in strategic partnership with the Chefs’ Association of Pakistan (CAP) and COTHM Pakistan, College of Tourism & Hotel Management / Group of Colleges, the event will bring together expertise from the culinary, hospitality, food, nutrition, and tourism sectors.
The seminar will focus on some of the major challenges faced by street food vendors, including hygiene management, safe food preparation, proper storage, food handling, and maintaining consistent quality. It will also explore practical approaches for helping roadside eateries move toward more professional and internationally aligned standards.
Dr. Toheed Ahmad, PhD in Food & Nutrition, will share his expertise on food safety, nutrition, hygiene management, and better food handling practices. His session will highlight the importance of maintaining safety and quality throughout the food preparation, storage, and serving process.
Mr. Fayyaz Ahmad, CEO of Globe Chaser Tours & Travel, will provide an industry perspective on the connection between street food, tourism, culinary experiences, and destination development. His insights will highlight how improved food quality and hygiene can contribute to better experiences for both local consumers and visitors.
Key discussion areas will include hygiene and food safety, vendor challenges, better food handling, quality improvement, and the path toward international standards. The session is designed to provide practical knowledge that can be applied by food vendors, culinary professionals, hospitality students, and other industry stakeholders.
