In a powerful celebration of adventure, resilience, and women empowerment, Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) welcomed Gulafshan Tariq, Pakistan’s first female biker, at its Head Office in Islamabad following the successful completion of her remarkable overland journey from London to Pakistan.
The reception ceremony was attended by Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, Secretary of the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC); Aftab-ur-Rehman Rana, Managing Director PTDC; along with senior officials and members of the media. Gulafshan Tariq was honored for her extraordinary achievement and her role in promoting Pakistan as a global destination for adventure tourism and overlanding.
Addressing the ceremony, Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani commended her inspiring journey, noting that such initiatives project a progressive and positive image of Pakistan internationally. He emphasized that her accomplishment not only promotes tourism but also strengthens cultural exchange, people-to-people connectivity, and women empowerment.
Sharing her experience, Gulafshan Tariq reflected on her journey across Pakistan, expressing deep appreciation for the hospitality, safety, and support she received throughout her travels. She highlighted her interactions with female bikers across the country, describing them as a source of inspiration. She also announced plans to return to Pakistan with a group of 15 bikers from the United Kingdom to further promote adventure tourism and international engagement.
Aftab-ur-Rehman Rana praised her courage and pioneering spirit, reaffirming PTDC’s commitment to facilitating international travelers and promoting Pakistan as a premier destination for adventure tourism, overlanding, and inclusive travel initiatives—particularly encouraging women-led participation.
In recognition of her inspiring journey and valuable contribution, PTDC presented souvenirs to Gulafshan Tariq during the ceremony.
Her visit stands as a testament to Pakistan’s growing appeal among global adventure travelers and highlights the country’s immense potential in motorbike tourism, overlanding, and high-altitude exploration—while sending a strong message of empowerment, resilience, and possibility.
